A NEW TRIKE FOR LIZZIE!

Morley & District Lions work with Santa to buy a specialised trike for 10 year old Elizabeth from East Ardsley.

A ‘new bike’ has always been a popular request on letters to Father Christmas.

Santa is familiar with dealing with requests for a new bike after children outgrow them, but a bike for a child with additional needs, requires a little more planning.

Elizabeth Thornton, 10, from East Ardsley has Cerebral Palsy and the trike that would meet her needs costs more than £1000 but with thanks to a substantial donation from from Morley & District Lions Club and WF3 Kindness, Elizabeth was delighted to wake up on Christmas morning to a brand new trike.

Elizabeth’s mum, Emily Thornton said:

“We are really grateful for the help to fund a new trike for Lizzie. We’ll be able to go cycling as a family allowing us more opportunities to enjoy the outdoors together.”
